Washington Football Team Schedule – Latest News, Statistics & Facts

Washington Football Team

The club was founded in 1932 as the Boston Braves and renamed the ‘Redskins’ the following year. In 1937, the team relocated to Washington, D.C. In July 2020, the Washington Redskins announced that they would change their name in response to mounting criticism from fans and sponsors since the nickname ‘Redskins’ was seen as politically incorrect against Native Americans and people of other races. For now, they called themselves “Washington Football Team.”

Daniel Marc Snyder, an American businessman, now owns the majority of the Washington Team. Before winning the Super Bowl, the club had won two NFL titles. Since then, it has won three Super Bowl trophies. In 2019, the Washington Football Team made the fifth-most money in the NFL. Its value has risen from about 845 million dollars in 2002 to about 3.4 billion dollars in 2019. The team’s home games are held at FedExField in Landover, Maryland.
