Bio: Three-year starter awarded All-America and all-conference honors last season while also receiving the Ted Hendricks Award. Totals last year included 84 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 18.5 sacks after 50/9/3.5 the prior year.
Positive: Tremendous college pass rusher with ability out of a three-point stance or standing up over tackle. Fluid moving in every direction, immediately alters his angle of attack and plays with quickness. Can bend off the edge, plays with good lean and fast up the field. Easily collapses down the line of scrimmage in pursuit of the action and covers a large amount of area. Breaks down well, plays with leverage and rarely knocked off his feet. Focused on by opponents but finds ways to get to the action.
Negative: Lacks bulk and out positioned by opponents. Will be engulfed by a single blocker. Struggled in coverage drills during the Senior Bowl.
Analysis: Orchard is a forceful defender who consistently found ways to disrupt the action behind the line of scrimmage throughout his college career. He offers possibilities as a 3-4 outside linebacker or one-gap defensive end and is a prospect with a large upside.
